Thanks for the note, Graham and for reading! I am not familiar with Gnosticism, Kabbalah, Sufism nor many Native American traditions, but I’m intrigued.

I really like what the author Yuval Noah Harari has said of religion and science: “It is often argued that science and religion are enemies, because both seek the truth, yet each finds a different truth. The fact is that science and religion are allies. Science is interested above all in power. Religion is interested above all in order. Together, they are a winning team.”

With respect to this quote, spirituality and religion still are the same thing — they provide order and meaning to our ephemeral lives and chaotic world.
